Visceral Games and EA released a developer diary for the upcoming Wii exclusive, Dead Space: Extraction. The video diary goes over the details of the new control mechanics for the Wii version of last year’s survival-horror success.
The game itself is pretty much a rail shooter with tidbits of forcibly interactive segments. One of the neat parts about the game would probably have to be with the puzzles that can be handled by both players (when doing the cooperative mode).
Some of the puzzles are logic based while others are based on common-sense survival tactics. For instance, using the bolt gun to nail in metal and wood pieces over a door to keep the monsters out requires one player to hold up the pieces while the other player bolts them into place. It’s not thumb-numbing action but based on how it was put together the puzzles at least seem to contain an atmosphere of intensity.
