If you have any plans to head to Cologne, Germany anytime soon then you may as well plan your traveling schedule around the upcoming GamesCom, which will play host to a lot of recent and upcoming software titles. One of the major players that will be showcasing a lot of their games at the convention is Blizzard and Diablo III happens to be one of them.

According to the Unofficial Diablo III Website, they caught wind of a post on the Polish edition of the Blizzard Battle.net site that several of Blizzard’s titles will be headlining GamesCom, including World of Warcraft, StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm and one of the most highly anticipated action-RPGs that has yet to come out, Diablo III.

Blizzard’s Diablo III community manager, Micah Whiple, (though he prefers his Diablion name Bashiok), shared a few comments about what the demo will be and what gamers can expect from it, saying…

As far as I’m aware it will be the BlizzCon 2010 build, which has not yet been seen in Europe. While there some differences between that and what we have now, the content is still new for people that didn’t make the trip to BlizzCon (ie 99.999% of people at Gamescom).

So there you have it…the community manager, Bashiok, confirms that the GamesCom 2011 demo is just rehashed content from BlizzCon 2010. That sounds promising.

For all our Euro readers I’m assuming this is good news unless you’ve already been to BlizzCon, then it’s just old news.
