Disney Infinity 3.0 Will Be Releasing New Details In Upcoming Digital Event

Disney has a massive plate of huge properties set in front of them and they're making the most of each of them, from all of the different Marvel brands to all of the different Star Wars properties. These huge icons, in addition to their traditional children movies, will play a big role in the future of Disney Infinity 3.0.

According to Shacknews Disney will have huge plans for the next phase of content set to arrive for the toy-based video game, Disney Infinity 3.0. Coming off a very strong holiday season where they managed to beat out Activision with their Skylanders brand – which was previously the largest toy-based video game series for gaming platforms – and they're using that momentum to make a big announcement on March 1st.

The Shacknews article states that Disney Infinity's general manager and senior vice president, John Blackburn, and vice president of production, John Vignocchi, will both host the digital event where they will unveil what's coming down the pipeline for the fast-growing and very popular toy and gaming line.

The crossover of having people buy a game and then buy complimentary toys to unlock or access new content has been hugely popular for the company, and it's something that we've seen others like Nintendo adopt for things like their Amiibo line, which uses the NFC capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U to enhance the content within select games.

Shacknews speculates that some of the new content may coincide with the upcoming Zootopia, The Jungle Book, Finding Dory, BFG or Pete's Dragon. Each of these titles could prove to be a well of content that could open up all new levels, characters and quests for players to experience in Disney Infinity 3.0.

The game is very popular on home consoles but had some mixed responses on Steam due to the fact that a lot of people complained about the requirement of various DLC and toy packs in order to make the game more complete.

Essentially Disney Infinity is a third-person action-adventure playset where players can mess around with various locations and characters that are popularized within the Disney, Marvel and Star Wars universes.

Recently they launched some new content for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and in conjunction with the launch of the movie late last year the content pack managed to become a huge seller for Disney. They also had Star Wars: Rise Against The Empire set that was fairly popular as well.

There are more movies and shows inbound surrounding the property that takes place in a galaxy far, far away, so even if some of the other animated movies or new IP that Disney comes up with don't happen to be big moves and shakers, they can always fall back on more content from the new Star Wars movies and television shows. And if that fails they still have all of the huge Marvel stuff coming out that has a lot of people excited, including the upcoming Captain America: Civil War film.

For now gamers and fans of Disney will have to stay tuned in until March 1st to see what the company has planned for the Infinity toy and game line.
