Distant Worlds: Music From Final Fantasy Playing This Month I can’t imagine anyone playing Final Fantasy and not liking at least one song out of the franchise’s historic musical history. Nobuo Uematsu revolutionized video game music with some of the most original, heart-touching tunes ever featured in digital entertainment. Well, it was recently announced that the music that made SquareSoft the Square-Enix giant that they are today, will be featured in a concert taking place in Michigan.

While I doubt many people would willingly vacation to Michigan for anything other than visiting relatives (who, more than likely, are considering moving out of state) you might find a good time at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra with the Distant Worlds: Music From Final Fantasy event.

In addition to playing popular tunes from the famous franchise, it was stated that the event will play host to some of the game’s most emotional, heart-touching cinematics. I imagine this will be complete with the single-tear-dropping scenes that the series has become known for (I’m looking at you Final Fantasy VIII, IX, X and X-2). All in all, it certainly doesn’t sound like a bad way to spend the evening.

Now I imagine most people are at the point of just wanting to know “when and what time” the event will take place. So, without further ado, I’ll cut the promotional theatrics and just let the information loose: Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy will take place on Thursday, June 18th and it starts at 8:00pm, EST at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra Hall. Also, if you use the order code: DWFF, you'll get $5 off your ticket when ordering online.
