Another day, another recent Midway game released for free. The full version of Stainless Steel Studios-developed real-time strategy game/third-person action game Rise & Fall: Civilizations At War is now available for download.

This free download is probably supported by advertisements like Area 51. You can download the 2.44 GB file from Gamer's Hell or ComputerGames. It's likely other websites will also carry it when the day is through.

Rise & Fall pits four mighty civilizations of the first millennium BC against each other: the Persians, Romans, Greeks, and Egyptians. It's primarily a real-time strategy game, featuring over eighty unique infantry, cavalry, siege, naval, and special units. Additionally, the player could take direct control of one of eight hero units and control them from a third-person perspective temporarily to turn the tide of a battle.

As with Area 51, the game received mixed reviews but it costs zero dollars so it'll only cost you some download time. Can't argue with free gaming.
