Dragon Age: Origins Is Definitely Going To Be Rated M

Though the ESRB has yet to rate upcoming RPG Dragon Age: Origins, they'll be sure to slap a "Mature" label on it as soon as they see the latest trailer. It looks to be the most violent game BioWare's ever produced.

The footage, filled with stabbing and slashing and what not, seems to be cobbled together from various cutscenes in the game. Randomly enough, there's a brief snippet from a love scene halfway through the video too. Guess Fox News will have something to complain about again. It looks like players will be able to romance NPC companions again.

Dragon Age is "low fantasy," meaning it's a grittier, darker version of the stuff you'd see in Dungeons & Dragons or Lord of the Rings. A trailer like this seems to be a good way to convey that tone. Look for DAO on the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360 at the end of 2009.
