Many pen and paper role-playing games have become video games and the reverse scenario happens occasionally too. BioWare announced today that they're teaming up with Green Ronin Publishing to create a pen and paper version of Dragon Age.

"We’re delighted to be working with Green Ronin to explore more of the Dragon AgeDragon Age’s unique dark, heroic fantasy to our audience in a brand new way - a perfect complement to the landmark game we’re launching on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this fall," said BioWare GM and CEO Ray Muzyka.

The pen and paper Dragon Age will arrive in stores this summer. Green Ronin plans to release supplements to the initial boxed set over time as well. Dragon Age: Origins (the PC/PS3/360 game) is said to be a "spiritual successor" to Baldur's Gate, which was based on the popular Dungeons & Dragons pen and paper game. Feels like things are coming full circle, here.
