DragonBall: Evolution Arriving On PSP In April

published: 2009-01-19 13:49:32
I can't remember the last time I seen a DragonBall game that didn't have 'Z' or 'GT' in it. And while DragonBall: Evolution happens to include neither a 'Z' or a 'GT' in it, unfortunately it's a tie-in game for the movie based on the DragonBall licence. So you know what that means? Yep, yet another movie-to-game travesty awaits you poor PSP owners in April.

What's funny about this scenario is that the movie is based on cartoon property, and yet the game is based on a movie that's based on a cartoon. Art that's imitating life based on art imitation...h'm. Anyways, DragonBall: Evolution is basically another DragonBall fighting game that allows gamers to play one of their favorite movie characters.

“DRAGONBALL has been a cultural icon for over the past twenty years and we’re excited to be releasing our take on such a beloved title,” said Todd Thorson, director of marketing and public relations. “DRAGONBALL: Evolution squeezes every intense fight and special move into the hands of fighting game fans.”

Right, of course. What about the game not sucking? Because honestly, I would rather be assured that a movie-game doesn't suck more-so than being reassured that it has a bunch of crummy special moves. The game will feature online functionality for competitive play, a mission mode, a versus arcade mode, a story mode that takes players on a journey as Goku to defeat Lord Piccolo, and a training mode for the fighting-game inept.

The game will be available on the PSP this coming April, releasing alongside the movie which is due out on April 8th. You can learn more about DragonBall: Evolution by visiting the Official NamcoBandai Website. And for all your other gaming news-needs, be sure to stay tuned in with Blend Games.
