A small indie gaming studio out of Castellón, Spain, announced today that a new Xbox Live Indie Game is on the way called Dual Zone. It’s a multiplayer spinning-top sort of game with arcade elements. This is just one of the many new XBLIGs released in the past few weeks.
It’s starting to look quite lop-sided with all these indie titles coming out for XBL and very few hitting the PlayStation Network. The real question, though, is when the heck will the PS3 start getting more exclusive indie games? The PlayStation Network seems to be lacking greatly in original, exclusive indie titles or they just haven’t been advertising them much. Either way, Sony needs to open up the door for developers a bit more to make the service look more inviting. The WiiWare platform and Xbox Live Indie Game market are starting to explode, which could hurt Sony in the long run. Anyway, according to the press release for Ninja Fever’s Dual Zone... The game's simplicity allows everyone to play, no matter how old you are, and test your reflexes: a space coliseum, two starships to pilot, and several hostile forces that will try to crash with them. Your mission, to control the starships to protect them mutually. The game will be available soon, exclusively on the Xbox Live Marketplace, along with a few other XBLIG titles.
