Duke Nukem Forever Demo Is Likely

Late last week Gearbox Software announced they are the new developer of Duke Nukem Forever. Before its release, they want to release a demo for disbelieving gamers.

"I think [a demo] is an important thing to do," Gearbox head Randy Pitchford told VG247. "Now that the cat’s out of the bag we can actually make those plans. Now we can get with retailers and figure out the launch window, and figure out demo timing, and work with the first-parties on that."

"We weren’t able to do that until this point, because if we did we risked damaging it even further."

Duke Nukem Forever was announced back in 1997. The game's protracted development has turned it into a punchline. Letting players experience DNF themselves seems like a good way to combat that perception.
