For a while now Trendy Entertainment has been saying that the PS3 version of their upcoming action-RPG, tower-defense game was on the way. Well, they finally set the release date in stone and the game will be arriving on October 18th.

Dungeon Defenders is a mixed-genre game for the PlayStation Network, PC and Xbox Live Arcade. As you’ll see in the video below the game isn’t just about tactically taking charge of a scenario and letting your wits do all the talking -- there’s a fair amount of hack-and-slash, button-mashing to be done, as you’ll in the following developer diary.

I really like how Trendy infuses a lot of strategy-oriented tactics with the ability to get right down into the nitty-gritty, taking out hordes of mobs using your character’s skills and melee combat.

The other highlight for Dungeon Defenders is easily the four-player cooperative feature. How fun will it be working with your friends to establish a fortified stronghold while at the same time making sure that your butt isn’t being eaten by a bunch of pesky gremlins.

You can look for Dungeon Defenders to release a day earlier on PSN than on the Xbox Live Arcade and PC, beginning October 18th. You can learn more about the budget-priced co-op action-RPG, strategy game by visiting the Official Website.
