Turbine announced today that Dungeons & Dragons Online is going to become free-to-play. The MMO will relaunch with a new title, Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited, later this summer.
When DDO Unlimited goes live, you'll be able to download and play it for free. The game will support itself through a new DDO Store that sells adventure packs, extra character slots, hirelings, and other content. Alternately, you can pay a monthly subscription of $15 to get unlimited access to the premium content. Subscribers will receive other benefits like priority server access as well. In addition to the new payment model, DDO Unlimited will bring new content as well. The level cap is being raised from 16 to 20 and a new character class will be added. |
