E.X. Troopers Combat Screenshots Battle Some Bugs

The spinoff of the Lost Planet franchise called E.X. Troopers puts players back into the action with an anime-style approach to the fun-loving, cooperative third-person shooter. The latest screenshots of the game feature the squad of troopers taking the fight to evil doers and giant bugs alike.

E.X. Troopers looks like a game that escaped the PS2 era and managed to get a nice shiny coat of paint plastered all over it. This isn't a knock against the game, just more-so an observation that the style and play is similar to Sega's Phantasy Star Online series and other titles that came out during the last generation that seemed to focus more on gameplay and originality than playing the “Me Too” card, which is a sad reality that's over-played a lot this generation.

As for the game itself, E.X. Troopers aims to maintain a similitude to the original Lost Planet games, enabling epic fights to occur with larger-than-life creatures, siphoning goods from opponents and upgrading your gear. As mentioned, there's also a lot of RPG qualities similar to Phantasy Star Online, which will probably go down well with the anime crowd.
