E3 2007: Assassin’s Creed Xbox 360 And PS3 Gameplay Trailer

Duly impressed. That’s exactly how I felt after watching this trailer from E3. I know a lot of people have been squabbling over this game’s presence at the business summit, but I don’t see what the fuss is all about. Ubisoft is definitely on to something with this game and they shouldn’t stray from it by one bit.

The fighting mechanics present in this game is the epitome of what fighting games aught to be. There’s blocking, parrying, rolling, grab moves that actually work (and don’t include ridiculous acrobatics, such as Soul Calibur) and interactive environments that actually affect the fights. I tell you, this is how fighting should be in all games! It was exciting to watch, it looked fun to play and I’m hoping every other aspect of the game is as polished as what was displayed in the trailer.

Now the other part of the trailer is all about the environment; racing through the city after a target never looked so fun. I can’t imagine how Activision never took this approach with Spider-Man games – and this guy from Assassin’s Creed can’t even web-sling!!! Ubisoft may not be very press friendly, but they sure as heck can make a good game. Enjoy the trailer below and remember to stop by our E3 Coverage Center for more updates and news info.
