Sony and Microsoft unveiled some of Konami's big upcoming projects at their press conferences earlier this week but Konami saved one surprise for their own conference. A next-gen Castlevania's in development and we've got screenshots and a trailer.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is due in 2010 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Madrid studio MercurySteam, who made Clive Barker's Jericho and Scrapland, will be the principal developer on the project. The game was announced by Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima and his company Kojima Productions is assisting with the development.
