Sony announced today at their E3 conference that they will be bringing their console racing series Gran Turismo to the PSP. It appears to be Gran Turismo 4 Mobile, the long-delayed handheld port of the PS2 game.

The PSP GT will feature 800 cars and 35 tracks. For single-player, you'll have normal races as well as time races, drift trials, and challenge trials. You can play with up to three others via wireless. In addition, players will be able to trade cars online with their friends.

The release date wasn't disclosed but this could be a launch title for the PSP Go!, announced at the same conference. The Go! will arrive in stores on October 1st.
