Konami’s Hideo Kojima dropped a big revelation at this year’s E3 press conference for Sony Computer Entertainment. Live, on stage, he walked out and briskly announced (right after the PSP Go! unveiling) that a new Metal Gear Solid was coming. This time, however, the game is being designed for the PSP and it features multiple Solid Snakes.

Multiple Solid Snakes is something that probably just flew right over your head. Don’t worry, the Solid Snake clones and the connecting story is all explained in a story that takes place 10 years after Metal Gear Solid 3. One thing that the four Solid Snakes also represent is that it’s a possible hint at a multiplayer wi-fi mode that will feature cooperative functionality for the game. That would be cool.

One thing to note, however, is that during the live demonstration it appeared one of the Snake’s was missing his pants?! Yeah, well, I guess that’s not all that surprising. Anyway, the game features all the same kinds of features that made the series popular for in the past. It features the same hiding-under-the-box routine, scaling, sneaking and cover mechanics.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is due out exclusively on the PSP in 2010. You can check out some exclusive new screen-captures below. For more E3 coverage, updates, info and insight, be sure to stay tuned in with Blend Games.
