At the tail end of their presentation on the PSP, Sony mentioned that Capcom's survival horror series will make its way to their handheld system. Resident Evil will hit the PSP next year.

The RE PSP game is a "whole new game designed specifically for the platform," according to Sony CEO Jack Tretton. That seems to suggest that it won't be a port of any previous game. Could mirror the plot of one, though.

Unfortunately, the fact that it's on the PSP and it's due in 2010 is all that's known for certain. Sony's got too much other stuff to announce to dwell on it, I guess.
