This news is probably a social networker’s dream come true. EA and Facebook have teamed together for a truly time-sucking experience known as The Sims Social. And by time-sucking, I mean a product that will literally suck all the time out of your day.

As you all know, The Sims franchise prides itself on 3D, simulated playscapes where gamers manipulate and control the lives of 3D avatars. The entire interactive experience that made the series so popular in the first place is now coming to Facebook, complete social networking features that allow you to share and create experiences with family, friends and even strangers. Users can chat, talk, and interact with each other in the app, just the same as you would playing any other rendition of The Sims. The only difference is that now all of the gameplay features are tied into Facebook.

Katie Mitic, Director of Platform and Mobile Marketing, Facebook commented in the press release, saying…

“The Sims Social is a great addition to the Facebook Platform, as it provides another fun way for people to connect with their friends through an inherently social app,” said “What’s social offline should be social online, and The Sims Social brings some of the everyday interactions we have in the real world onto Facebook in a Sims setting.”

What’s more is that this project – which has been in the making from the developers of The Sims and Playfish Studios – also has a mobile app feature that enables users to Sim-it-up while on the go.
