Payday 2 is a crazy game. I played the first game ever so briefly but found the routine somewhat trite and a bit of a headache in the replay department. However, the sequel from Overkill Studios looks like it could be the heist game we've always wanted but never received...until now.

If you haven't done so already, I would highly suggest you check out Gaming Blend's hands-on coverage of Payday 2, where GB's Ryan Winslett gives a rundown of some of the new features, maps, play-styles and gameplay mechanics. If the preview sounds enticing, then you might want to check out the video above, which gives you an actual, non-press friendly walkthrough of the gameplay.

The reason the video isn't press-friendly is because it's real! That's right, this isn't some stage-demo style walkthrough of pre-canned AI doing pre-canned crap while a pre-canned action is taken and some lame person on stage makes a lame joke to a stifled spread of sporadic and inconsistent claps.

Oh no, the video in that Gamespot trailer above is sweet because it's honest, and it's the most any gamer could ever ask for. I love how the whole heist starts off stealthy, ramps up in its loftiness and then eventually breaks down into a full fledged Dog Day Afternoon. I love it!

I wasn't too big on the original Payday and only played it for novelty purposes, but I could easily see myself getting head over heels into Payday 2. The game is set for release this August for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

You can learn more about the game by paying a visit to the official website or check out Ryan Winslett's daring escapade with his hands-on preview of the game.
