Autism is a battle that seems like a lot of parents just can't win. Although, Vision Audio has been a company working to help parents with young kids who suffer from autism, using video games and interactive material. Vision Audio’s latest gaming venture involves using 3D Electronic Auditory Stimulation effects – which have been tested by therapists – as a useful way to help kids with autism.
According to the press release, Bill Mueller, president of Vision Audio in Joppa, Maryland, commented saying…
“Our goal is to balance the child’s sensory experiences,”...“Too much stimulation can result in fight-or-flight responses. Too little stimulation and we won't get past the child's existing sensory defense mechanisms."
The entire program is designed to ensure that appropriate amounts of stimulation are exhibited to the child to help cope and adjust to sights, sounds and movement. In fact, EASe was designed specifically to avoid over-stimulating or under-stimulating autistic kids.
Mueller also added that…
"… a child can learn to associate crowd noise with a positive experience of playing a ball game. Bouncing around in the vehicles can teach them to manage their own visual orientation and balance in the real world."
The basic premise of the game includes “simple” yet “effective” mechanics that involve finding objects, identifying faces and recognizing shapes, words and geometric properties.
EASe Funhouse Treasure Hunt is currently available for PC with a $39.00 price tag. You can learn more about EASe and Vision Audio by visiting the Official Website.
