Eidos At E3: Tomb Raider Underworld Details And Screens

Classic gaming franchises get remade a lot these days. Especially with XBLA being a place for developers to easily go high def with old games. But they don’t always get made well. 2008 is shaping up to be a damn fine year for revitilzing old favorites. Even Sonic Unleashed appears to be 50% faithful to the golden years of the speedy hedgehog. Eidos is also dipping into the well with Tomb Raider: Underworld an all new adventure for buxom leading lady Lara Croft.

Underworld is the first game in the series developed for current generation consoles like the 360 and PS3. This means much better graphics and apparently lots of Lara walking around wearing a swimsuit. Seriously, look at what she’s wearing. I know she’s a hot lady, but does any diver really wear something like that when going hunting in the depths of the ocean? If so I need to take up diving. Perhaps moving closer to the ocean would be beneficial in achieving that goal.

So what’s our heroine up to? She’s discovered that the hammer of Norse God Thor just might be real. With the power to destroy the gods, level mountains and make a ridiculously fine corn meal Lara heads off in pursuit of the hammer. Using all of her skills to battle sharks and giant plates of calamari, as well as fighting bathing suit wedgies, Lara will provide players with the exploration and gameplay fans should expect.
