After disappointing sales of Tomb Raider: Underworld, Eidos has decided that the prized series needs some big changes. They might start by giving a makeover to the main character, Lara Croft.
The BBC reports that the Eidos "is considering revising the look and play of her Tomb Raider adventures, which may see efforts to make her more female-friendly." There's no further elaboration on how they plan to make the character "female-friendly", though one would imagine they'll start by giving Lara a body that's less likely to induce poor self-esteem among women who aren't hundred-pound gymnasts with triple-F boobs.
“We need to look at everything, as we develop the next game," said Eidos Chief Financial Officer Robert Brent. "Look at how Batman changed successfully, from the rather sad character of the Michael Keaton era to the noir style of The Dark Knight.”
In other words, all they need to do in order to un-fuck the franchise is make a game with the stature of The Dark Knight. Simple enough, right?
