Bethesda's made their contribution to the April Fool's festivities by announcing a special deal on the notorious horse armor downloadable content for Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. All next week, it will cost 800 Microsoft Points instead of the usual 400.

In case this is the first time you've heard about horse armor: yes, Bethesda really did try to sell horse armor to players for a few extra bucks after Oblivion was released. They've gotten quite a bit of crap about it ever since. When Fallout 3's DLC was first announced, pretty much every gaming website made the same "Dogmeat armor?" joke. Friday is actually the 3rd anniversary of the horse armor's release so happy birthday, you terribly conceived DLC.

Bethesda also revealed that all other downloadable content for the Xbox 360 version of Oblivion will be half price next week, including the expansion packs Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles. Hopefully that discount's not a joke, too. I suspect this April Fool's Day will end with me yelling "I don't know what's real anymore!" and curling into a fetal position.
