Elder Scrolls Online Playable At Gamescom

If you're attending Gamescom this summer, you'll get a chance to play The Elder Scrolls Online. ZeniMax Online Studios announced today that they'll be showing off the MMORPG at the European gaming convention.

"We’re bringing ESO to Cologne this year for our very first European convention," said ZeniMax. "Gamescom is the largest gaming convention in Europe, and thousands of you will have the opportunity to play The Elder Scrolls Online at our booth. We can’t wait to meet you!"

ESO is set thousands of years before the single-player Elder Scrolls titles like Morrowind and Oblivion. Players will sign up with one of three factions battling for dominance. They'll also face off against enemies threatening the entire realm, such as the Daedric prince Molag Bal.

ZeniMax launched the closed beta for ESO earlier this year. They've been slowly inviting players in droves. Extensive gameplay footage from the beta leaked last month.

Elder Scrolls Online is slated to launch later this year on PC and Mac. If ZeniMax intends to stick to that release window, we're going to hear a lot more about the game in the second half of 2013.

Gamescom will run from August 22nd to August 25th in Cologne, Germany. You can buy tickets here.
