Elder Scrolls V Not Coming Soon

When Bethesda revealed that we'll have to wait several years for Fallout 4, many assumed that their next project would be a new installment in the Elder Scrolls series next. That might be true but don't expect the game to be in your hands in the near future.

"The next big project announcement is not coming anytime soon," said Bethesda marketing VP Pete Hines at a recent press event attended by IGN. He doesn't specify what said big project would be but it seems likely that it's Elder Scrolls V. Last October, a Bethesda publishing executive stated a new Elder Scrolls could "potentially" be released in 2010. That statement suggests that Elder Scrolls V is "on deck" for development even if it's not coming anytime soon.

The last two Scrolls games, Morrowind and Oblivion, were made by the same team that just developed Fallout 3 and they're currently finishing up Broken Steel, the third bit of downloadable content for that game. The question is, after Steel is done, will they move onto Elder Scrolls or continue producing Fallout 3 DLC?
