Fable 2 Will Make Players Feel Love

The original Fable was touted by the creator himself, Peter Molyneux, as the greatest RPG of all time. However, due to the fact that it was forced to leave out a handful of key features it just turned out to be really good, inventive, and ground breaking. But you know the press, never satisfied. Fable 2 looks to correct this issue by incorporating everything that the first game was missing and oh so much more.

Molyneux has never been satisfied with gaming conventions and is famous for his creative mind, always searching for new ways to expand our genre. The first Fable took a great first step by offering the growth system, whereby the player’s character would grow dynamically according to the choices and play style of the player. Fable 2 looks to continue this trend by giving the player yet another thing they have never experienced in a game before. Peter Molyneux wants Fable to make gamers feel…love. By now you’re probably rolling your eyes and muttering to yourself, “not again…” At least that’s what I did. Then he explained his idea.

There are a number of different ways he wants this feeling to come to us, but the method explained in the video is a dog. Every player has a unique dog that goes everywhere with them. I’ll let Peter do the explaining in the videos below, lest I do his ideas injustice. Another way to feel love is through marriage and relationships. Players can, as in Fable 1, get married and have a wife/husband. Once they are married they can uh…you know…I’ll let your parents explain the birds and the bees lest I do the idea injustice. This action is far from fruitless though, should the player choose to have unprotected sex, a child may be conceived. Once the child is born it will become like a “mini-me” of sorts and idolize you. Every thing you are, your child will aspire to become. Sounding better yet? Pete, you had me at puppy.
