Facebreaker: New Character Trailer

EA Canada’s newest fighter, Facebreaker, is taking all of the realistic pugilistic action of Fight Night and combining it with an arcade boxer. Over the top characters and moves will be the order of the day, and while we’ve been intrigued with the fighter there’re still many questions we have. EA has recently offered up a new trailer to try and give gamers a glimpse of the game’s style. The game is looking fantastic, but whoever put this trailer together must have needed to get out of the office early.

It’s a lot of work to put something like the latest Facebreaker trailer together. Many people spend hours getting it just right. But seriously, this is a limp attempt at showcasing the game. Essentially you have similar shots of numerous characters, none of which we care about yet, and they do some fighting. And then there’s the broken face freeze frame. That really needs to stop. If you’re going for this animation style, why not just do character profiles like Vale did for Team Fortress 2? Not a ripoff, but go in that direction. Make us care about these characters you’re flashing across the screen. Otherwise I’ll just yawn and continue saying, “Looks good…but I’ll wait and see.”

We do happen to have the trailer for your entertainment below. Enjoy.
