Fallout 3 Probably Will Be Simultaneous Release

Paranoid PS3 owners can relax for now. Bethesda Softworks is planning to release Fallout 3, the next installment of the post-apocalyptic RPG, simultaneously for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

This is according to Fallout 3 executive producer Todd Howard, who told videogaming247 that “They should all be the same date. That’s our plan.” It's particularly good news for PS3 owners given how many high-profile Playstation games have suffered delays related to technical issues (Metal Gear Solid 4, Orange Box, Haze, and so on).

Owners of the other two consoles are probably hoping Bethesda doesn't have a steadfast commitment to releasing all three versions on the same day, though. If so, a delay in the PS3 iteration's development could cause the release date to be pushed back for all platforms (which is what happened with GTA IV). Bethesda intends to release Fallout 3 in the third quarter of 2008 and you know who 360 and PC owners will be blaming if they miss that target.
