Fallout MMO Is Multiplatform?Author: Pete Haas

If and when Interplay releases "Project V13," the MMORPG based on the Fallout license, it may not simply be on the PC. New evidence suggests it may be released for consoles as well.
On November 30th, Interplay updated their Careers page with a Technical Director listing. The ideal candidate is said to possess "an excellent understanding of MMO infrastructure, and 3D PC & console games development." It also "wouldn't hurt" to have experience with iPhone and Facebook apps, presumably for promotional purposes. The listing mentions that familiarity with the post-apocalyptic genre is a plus and that the game has "an important sub-contractor in Bulgaria" so they're definitely talking about the Fallout MMO, here. Bulgarian outfit Masthead Studios was previously revealed to be assisting Interplay with the Project V13's development. Kinda doubt they've got two post-apocalyptic games with Bulgarian sub-contractors in the wings. All we've seen of Project V13 so far is a few pieces of concept art. MMOs have a lengthy, expensive development and this one's the subject of a lawsuit right now so who knows if it'll ever be completed. However, don't be surprised if it ends up on the Xbox 360 and PS3 - or the Xbox 720 and PS4, for that matter. |
