Far Cry 2 will ship on October 21st and additional content might not be far behind. Ubisoft is already working on it and, though it's too early for them to reveal a release date, the DLC is already complete enough to be playable.

The news about the DLC comes via play.tm, who recently spoke with Far Cry 2 producer Louis-Pierre Pharand. "We're thinking they're going to be pretty sweet actually. I actually played it yesterday... its really cool. We're still going to be working on it after the game ships; I played the prototypes yesterday. Its going to be really awesome."

A couple weeks ago, we reported that Gamestop was offering bonus missions to whoever pre-ordered Far Cry 2. I assume the DLC Pharand was talking about and these bonus missions are one and the same thing. If so, this means you pre-order customers will be receiving a code to redeem for free bonus missions at a later date. The special pre-order offer through Gamestop doesn't cost extra money so it's looking pretty tempting now.
