Ubisoft announced this morning that Europe would be getting Far Cry 2 on October 24th. After a dramatic pause lasting several hours, they confirmed that the game will ship to stores in the U.S. on October 21st for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.
No, not October 23rd. Don't look at me, Gamespot confirmed it. Go bug them if you doubt it.
Anyway, Ubisoft also revealed that they'll be offering a Collector's Edition of the game with an art book, t-shirt, making-of DVD, and a map of the 50 square-kilometer game world. Oh yeah, and the game. All of that will be bundled up inside of a wooden case, which I imagine several gamers will end up using to store their uh, herbal refreshments. No details on the pricing and availability of the Collector's Edition in the US. In the UK it's going to be offered exclusively through GAME stores so I imagine they'll strike some sort of dark bargain with Gamestop here in the States.
In case you haven't seen the newest FC2 trailer that debuted at Penny Arcade Expo last weekend, you can check it out here.
