There was so much talk about Far Cry 2's open-world structure and its beautiful landscapes that another important feature of the game - the easy-to-use map editor - went relatively ignored. Well, no more. Ubisoft has announced that a guide to the map editor will be published in Spring 2009 and it will feature contributions from gamers like you.
"Designing Wargames: The Official Far Cry 2 Map Editing Guide" will be written and edited by Professor David Hutchison, author of "Playing to Learn: Video Games in the Classroom." Much of the content of the book will be advice submitted by amateur Far Cry 2 map makers, though.
To learn how to contribute to the book, swing by www.farcrybook.com. According to the press release, they're looking for "map reviews, map editing quick tips, tactical analyses, and feature articles."
Far Cry 2 was released on October 21st, 2008 for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. For more information on the game, check out Blend Games' review.
