Fight Night Round 4 Puts Fight Night Round 3 To Shame?

published: 2009-03-16 12:12:46
A few writers had the chance to scope out an alpha-build of Fight Night Round 4 at the EA Vancouver studio. So what was uncovered about this upcoming fight-sim and what should gamers know about this game that might change the way they play boxing simulators? Well, you’ll have to keep reading to find out.

Stick Skills was one of the select few to get a first look at FN: Round 4. They were shown some alpha footage and gameplay that contained some nifty sounding features. One of those features is the new character muscle-reaction system that is bound to play a very prominent role in punch response-timing and combo execution. Basically, the 3D models have some reactionary effects when throwing a punch (and taking a punch).

According to the author of the article, Fight Night: Round 4 puts Fight Night: Round 3 to shame when it comes to the gameplay and graphics. I'm not sure if that was such a hard thing to do, simply considering that Round 3 was like a beautiful looking simulation of cardboard fighters.

Anyway, there’s no new footage for some of the alpha gameplay that was shown off. Still, you can check out the entire article and screenshots at StickSkills.com. What’s more is that there’s an embargo on the more juicy details of the game. Rest assured we’ll have the info ready once it becomes available.
