Fight Night Round 4 Trailer: Every Punch Is Physics Driven

Itís very rare that a competitive sports video game will make dynamic use of physics in the same way of an action title, flying or racing simulator. However, EA is doing something different with Fight Night: Round 4 that could easily make it the very best in the series.

In addition to featuring legendary boxers through the history of the sport, including the domineering but crazy ďIronĒ Mike Tyson, Fight Night: Round 4 will offer up a hefty selection of gameplay functions never before seen in the franchise. Some of these functions include the new footwork mechanic; allowing players to side-stop and maneuver with the flick of the analog (as opposed to trying to strafe out of the way of every punch). Thereís also the new grappling-esque collision detection, allowing the boxers to really get up close and trade punches, which is very similar to MMA shoot-fighting.

The following trailer details a lot of the new gameplay functions in an entertaining way, giving gamers a really good comparison between Round 3 and Round 4. The game is due to ship for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on June 30th. You can check out the new trailer below, which I highly recommend for any boxing game enthusiast.
