Final Fantasy XIV Open Beta Delayed

Square Enix planned to open up the Final Fantasy XIV beta to the public today. However, last minute tech problems have prevented that from happening.

"FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test, which is scheduled to begin at 19:00 (PDT) on Aug. 31, 2010, will be postponed due to a confirmation of critical bugs," says a notice on the FFXIV website. "New schedule will be released at a later date."

The full version of the game is expected to launch on September 30th.
