Red 5 Studios has launched the new European servers for Firefall today, getting ready and prepping for a full-on stress test assault to ensure that the Euro-servers can handle the load during an upcoming weekend beta test. If you're keen on getting in on the free-to-play action and you want to test out the shooter-MMO, be sure to register fast to reserve a spot in beta.
Mark Kern, CEO of Red 5 stated in the press release...
“We’ve been working hard to get these servers up and running for our European fans and it’s great that we were able to launch them in time for the Beta Weekends,” ...“We still expect some kinks as the stress-testing continues, but overall, performance should be significantly improved with less lag for European players.”
Firefall is a mix of traditional MMORPG farm-grinding and third-person/first-person action shooting. The combat and setup is very similar to Borderlands but as an MMO. The only downside is that you don't farm guns in Firefall like you can Borderlands. Instead, you farm a lot of upgrades, accessories and other whatmenots to help your character grow and expand. Mob battles also play a pretty big part in the way combat works, so teamwork and group play is usually encouraged but not enforced.
Registration is still currently open for Firefall's upcoming European stress test. If you'd like to get in on the action be sure to register an account about as soon as possible and grab the client because Red 5 will be opening up the beta servers this weekend, starting December 7th and running it through December 9th.
