We haven't heard much about Call of Juarez's prequel since its announcement a few weeks back. Ubisoft has now revealed the first gameplay details, along with a new trailer.
In Bound In Blood, a shooter set at the end of the Wild West, players will choose between two different characters: outlaws Ray and Thomas McCall. The brothers have run afoul of "a renegade Apache Chief, a greedy Mexican bandit, a vindictive Colonel, and others" and will probably end up killing all of them. The storyline spans thousands of miles, taking you from Georgia to Aztec ruins in Mexico. Obviously, the McCall brothers won't be traveling all of that by foot and they'll use canoes, horses, and wagons at different segments of the campaign. Ray and Thomas each have their own distinct strengths that come from their unique weapons and abilities. Speaking of weapons, you'll have a wide arsenal to choose from in the game, including machine guns, revolvers, and cannons. Every time you hit with a weapon, you gain something called "concentration" which apparently allows you to pull off "deadly shooting modes" - maybe you increase your rate of fire, slow down time or some such. The game's multiplayer will offer both objective-based modes and standard team deathmatches between outlaws and the marshals. The bigger your kill streak, the bigger the "bounty" on your head and the more points opposing players will gain for killing you. Bound in Blood will be released for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 this Summer. It's being developed by Techland, who also created the original Call of Juarez. |
