When Microsoft announced their month-and-a-half "Days of Arcade" promotion for Xbox Live Arcade, they mentioned that one week would see the release of two new XBLA games. As luck would have it, this week will have the double header, with Flock and Puzzle Quest: Galactrix both arriving on Xbox Live on Wednesday, April 8th.
Both titles are puzzle games but they're still worlds apart. In Flock, players control a UFO and must herd sheep into their mothership and keep them safe from hazards and predators in the process. The game has over fifty single-player levels and also comes with a map editor to allow you to create your own challenges. Puzzle Quest: Galactrix mixes puzzles and role-playing elements, with players battling A.I. and human opponents in Bejeweled-like head-to-head matches. As you rack up victories, you gain new upgrades and weapons to make yourself a more formidable opponent. Galactrix supports multiplayer matches for 2-4 people. Galactrix will cost 1600 Microsoft Points ($20) and Flock will be 1200 Microsoft Points ($15). Galactrix was previously released for the DS late last month and will make its way to the PC and PS3 soon. Flock arrived on the PC today and will hit PSN on Thursday. |
