In addition to the amazing tech demo for Force Unleashed, we also have a bit of news on the Wii version. As I had predicted many months ago, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will not be using the Euphoria or Digital Molecular Matter engines. Instead there are going to be five levels that are exclusive to the Nintendo console.
According to CVG Ed Tucker at Krome Studios has confirmed that the story alters a bit in the Wii version to allow new paths to be taken. The interview and preview on the upcoming title appears in the new issue of NGamer magazine. It’s not all that surprising the Wii couldn’t handle the insanity of physics technology going into Force Unleashed.
Tucker said, ”The likes of Euphoria and DMM are groundbreaking and we couldn't copy them. What we did was try to look at the concept and idea behind it and get as close as we could. The ragdolls in the Wii version are robust, they look really good.”
