As unbelievable as this news might seem to some people it’s actually true. In fact, to gloat in their game’s new-found fame, Sony Online Entertainment has sent out a press release regarding this platinum achievement that took just over two weeks to accomplish.

“The excitement surrounding Free Realms, and the positive response the game has already received, is overwhelming,” said John Smedley, president of Sony Online Entertainment. “To achieve this milestone so rapidly speaks to the quality and the fun gameplay experience Free Realms offers to players of all ages.”

Free Realms, as stated from Blend Games’ Editor Pete Haas, is aimed at being the Omni-MMO of the genre. It offers mini-games, combat, pet-raising, house building and much more.

This family-friendly MMO launched on April 28th and has only endured mammoth amounts of success during the time of its launch. Special events are currently being held that will see all current members of Free Realms receiving a limited-edition, in-game t-shirt. The one-millionth player will also receive a lifetime membership to the game and 10,000 credits of Station Cash (i.e,. cash-shop cash).
