If there has been one game series that needed co-op more than any other, it has been Grand Theft Auto. And I’m not talking about those PC mods, either. I’m talking full fledged cooperative gameplay, and a couple of other industry writers agree.

According to an article on Co-Optimus [via IGN] the topic of a full-on cooperative campaign for GTA IV’s next DLC comes up and I can’t help but agree. The one thing (aside from the shooting) in GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas was the lack of an in-depth co-op mode and I’m not talking about those pointlessly short rampage missions.

Co-Optimus also points out that the next Xbox Live DLC for GTA IV should have more than just three co-op missions. It should be Niko and Johnny, from start to finish, kicking butt and taking names.
