It was a sad day when South Carolina stated they would not be supporting Stephen Colbert’s run for President of the US. If he can be America, so can all of us. And South Carolina’s short sighted decision could be the downfall of all mankind as the bears of the world take over. Now, there is a shining beacon of hope coming from Austin, TX. Gamecock, game publisher extraordinaire, has thrown their support behind Colbert. We here at Blend Games join them in their endeavor.
“After conducting extensive polling and scrutinizing all the candidates’ stances on various issues, we came to the conclusion that Stephen Colbert has shown strong leadership and best represents the interests of the videogame playing community,” said Gamecock CEO and Grand Champeen Mike Wilson. “Stephen Colbert had Will Wright on his show and he pummeled Nancy Pelosi’s Mii in Wii Boxing. These decisive actions have earned our vote.”
Colbert is a man of the people, dolling out copious amounts of truthiness that will get this country back on track. What better way for a company to support a candidate than to use commercialism? This is exactly the plan Gamecock has come up with. The upcoming party game, Hail to the Chimp, will be used to promote Colbert’s candidacy. Now, the game takes no political stance. But you can’t go wrong when you’ve got Colbert running things.
Imagine a world where gamers are no longer persecuted by hate groups. Where eagles soar over our homes, spreading their majestic wings in a banner of true American values. It will be a world where our children will know just how much better they are than Facebook friends in second rate countries like France, where apple pie and wars of terror are reviled. Who can lead us through the Al-Qaeda lit blazes of California? Who will stand for our right to play Manhunt 2 as God intended, without blur filters? That man is Stephen Colbert. Hail to the Chief.
