Some players of RPG shooter Borderlands have had their characters' skills and proficiences unexpectedly set to 0 during online play. It's a pretty nasty bug but fortunately Gearbox Software's on the case.

"Your report has been heard and we're working on it. Unfortunately there isn't a fix just yet, but when one is available we hope to be able to repair as much of your character data as possible," said a dev post on the Gearbox forums.

The ability to jump in and out of cooperative play with three other people is one of Borderlands' biggest selling points.
