I’m just writing words here to fill up space, because this news item is deserving of a story even if it’s only one line in length. We’ve been waiting for a few months for official word on Gears of War 2. Hell, we have been damn sure it’s on the way. Possibly even done for all we know. OK, that last bit was a dream. But still, you can’t fault us for wanting more Phoenix action immediately.
Cliffy B took the stage at the end of the Microsoft Keynote at GDC to drop a little knowledge on the crowd. Gears of War 2 does exist, and it will release this November. A specific date was not provided, but I’m sure that’ll be nailed down at some point. Some tech demos featuring Gears environments earlier showcased just how amazing the graphics will be in the sequel to what is still one of the purdiest games out on consoles.
Prepare to fight the Locust Horde this November. I’m just happy we can get this official announcement about the game’s existence out of the way.
