The biggest update to Gears of War 2 yet is now available through Xbox Live. The Dark Corners downloadable content pack adds a new segment to the single-player campaign as well as several new multiplayer maps.

The new chapter to the campaign, called "Road to Ruin," follows Dom and Marcus as they travel the Locust highway. Players can use either stealth or brute force to progress through the level. There's seven new multiplayer maps in Dark Corners, described thusly by Major Nelson:

"A new War Machine, the much-requested Gears 1 map; Allfathers Garden, a heavy-weapons battle at a COG landmark; Highway, a fight deep in the Locust Hollow; Memorial, a battle at the Tomb of the Unknowns; Nowhere, a firefight in an old motel; Way Station, an unpredictable battlefield with parallel paths; and Sanctuary, a reimagined favorite from Gears for Windows."

Dark Corners costs 1200 Microsoft Points ($15) to download. Also offered on Xbox Live starting today is the All Fronts Collection, which gives you all of the content of Dark Corners plus the three previously released map packs - Flashback, Combustible, and Snowblind - for 1600 Microsoft Points ($20).
