When a game's that sold over 5 million copies gets a re-release, you'd expect a little fanfare but not so with Gears of War 2: Game of the Year Edition. It's quietly appeared on online retailers.

GoW2: GotY includes the base game as well as all the previous released downloadable content: the four map packs (Flashback, Combustible, Dark Corners and Snowblind) and "Road to Ruins," the "lost" chapter of the single-player campaign. It's listed at $40 on Gamestop, with a release date of September 1st. Joystiq got ahold of Microsoft, who confirmed that price and release date.

The bundle is a pretty good value at $40. GoW2 is still sold by itself for $40 and All Fronts Collection, the separate bundle of all the game's downloadable content, is $20.
