Gears of War 3 was just announced today so little gameplay information has been revealed. However, designer Cliff Bleszinski has announced that the game's co-op is getting a boost.

"Also, Rod confirmed and I'm posting it here: 4 player integrated story co op in the campaign!" tweeted Bleszinski.

Four player co-op struck me as something they've wanted to do since the beginning. In the first two games, the story centered around a squad of four soldiers with only two of them playable. Presumably the third and fourth players will control Baird and Cole Train.

GoW3 is set to arrive in April 2011 worldwide on the Xbox 360. The first trailer and release dates can be found here.
