Remember Tony! Toni! Tone!, the nineties R&B group? Well, one of the former members of the group, Raphael Saadiq now owns his own video game company called Illfonic and they're currently seeking a publisher for their first game, entitled Ghetto Golf.
Ghetto Golf was, according to MTV Multiplayer, inspired by Saadiq's days of playing golf on the streets of Oakland with improvised holes. The game, currently being demoed as an Unreal Tournament 3 mod, is an action/golf hybrid. The environment isn't the only thing standing in the way of players as they try to sink their ball in holes throughout the city and suburbs. They'll also have to blast their way past gangsters, cops, and other adversaries. Once they get a publisher, Illfonic plans to turn the game into a downloadable title for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. They were showing it off at GDC and will probably be making the convention circuit this summer too so I suspect we'll hear more about this game in the future. |
