When Ghost Recon: Future Soldier was delayed from late 2010 into early 2011, many feared that the Xbox Live beta would be pushed back or cancelled. Today Ubisoft took a moment to update fans on the beta's status.

"We can assure you that the GRFS beta will absolutely still happen. When? At this time we don’t have a firm date," said Ubisoft. "We are taking advantage of the extra development time to bring you the beta in its most polished state so that you guys can have the best gameplay experience, something you’ve come to expect from the Ghost Recon brand."

The beta was originally slated to begin this summer. If Ubisoft's still not clear on the timetable, it's possible it won't begin until the fall. You can secure access to the beta - whenever it starts - by pre-ordering through select retailers or buying the 360 version of Splinter Cell: Conviction.
